Tsonga missed seven months of the 2018 ATP Tour season following his semi-final retirement in Montpellier past year, ungergoing left knee surgery in April.

Injury-plagued Jo-Wilfried Tsonga claimed the 17th title of his career on Sunday when he defeated French compatriot Pierre-Hugues Herbert 6-4, 6-2 to claim the Montpellier title.

Pella took the first set in just 27 minutes, but he was broken in his first service game of the second set.

Pierre-Hugues Herbert has been off to a great start of the season in singles although he will still have to wait for his first ATP title, unable to create more damage with his first serve and get free points that would have kept him in contention longer.
