Instagram apologizes for ‘bug’ that caused major feed redesign

Your Instagram feed now scrolls sideways for no good reason Instagram users are furious over new app update
Troy Mann | 28 December, 2018, 19:28

"Always trying new ideas, usually with a much smaller number of people", he said.

Yep, instead of scrolling, users were told to swipe and tap to see the next post, just like you would when you're viewing someone's story. Users then need to find the version of the app they do want on their device, they can likely find it on APK Mirror and install it from there.

Instagram first began testing this feature in October, but at the time, it was restricted to the Explore tab.

Instagram briefly changed the structure of its feed and the internet freaked out.

The change, apparently rolled out by mistake, switched to a sideways-scrolling format activated by tapping to the left or right of the screen, according to the network. Is it easier to look through your timeline or was it an unnecessary change that needs to be reverted?

Photo and video-sharing app Instagram has changed a major way its users interact with their feed. "We apologise for the confusion", reads the tweet.

The popular social media app's unannounced refresh, which Instagram has since labeled as a bug, took users by surprise Thursday.

Most people seem to hate it...

It's not out of the question that the horizontal interface might come back in the future, after Instagram tweaks it a bit further.

"That was supposed to be a very small test that went broad by accident", he replied to some concerned users.

- Adam Mosseri (@mosseri) December 27, 2018Should already be rolled back.

The change was reversed and everything went back to normal for Instagrammers. As of now, Instagram has not made any statements on today's developments.

"This new #instagramupdate makes me feel like I'm on a dating app".
