Manchester City are 'untouchable' - Manchester United's Jose Mourinho

"If we keep conceding goals before the opportunity there will be a day where we can not come back so we have to grow up in our approach, because is clear the team is growing up, but we have to grow up in our compactness and start matches well".

Jose Mourinho admits Manchester City's success is "untouchable" but refused to discuss how it has been achieved ahead of Sunday's Etihad Stadium derby.

Speaking to United's official website, he said: "I expect a very hard game".

But Mourinho's men had other ideas, drawing level through Juan Mata before Alex Sandro's last-minute own goal gave them a priceless win.

"We have to try to bring our game the way we can control more, be clinical when we have the chances, that is the game we try to do".

Mourinho went on to suggest his side did not need to beat City to get back into the Premier League title race, even though they are already nine points behind their neighbours after just 11 games this season.

Fred may yet come good for Manchester United but so far he hasn't looked a £52 million player in the Premier League and not many City fans are rueing the club's failure to sign him.

"I see a team with a lot of commitment for what they have to do, aggressive without the ball, everybody runs backwards", said Guardiola.

"We want to play well, we want to go to every stadium and do that, no matter which team we are against".

"I was happy with the goal, but I'm a little bit disappointed because we should win the game with three or four goals". The match is hard enough by being an isolated event.

"So, I just want to play the match as an isolated event: hard match against a very hard team".

He said: "If we keep conceding goals before the opponent, it will arrive the day where we can not come back". We carried on, we pushed and we know that we can be unsafe on free-kicks because they defend very well (in open play). So, we have to make sure we grow up not just in our approach, - because that I think is clear that the team is growing up - but also we have to grow up in our compactness and to start matches well.

"The reaction of the fans really moved me, as I missed them and Italian football. Which, I have to say against Juventus, it happened".
