CNN's Jim Acosta spars with Trump in heated exchange

During the tense exchange on Wednesday, Acosta asked Trump about his claim that there was an impending invasion by people in the refugee caravan.

Trump called him a "rude, awful person" before Acosta was seen refusing to give his mic to a young woman.

"You know what? I think you should", Trump started to say, pointing at Acosta.

It's been another awful day for CNN, though Trump's favorite "fake news" network to mock, and its notoriously grandstanding reporter, don't appear to have figured that out just yet. It also remains to be seen whether White House reporters will walk out, or show solidarity with Acosta and CNN in other ways. "The way you treat Sarah Huckabee is awful", he said, referring to his press secretary. "When you report Fake News, which CNN does a lot, you are the enemy of the people".

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders on Tuesday seems to have posted a possibly doctored video to justify the White House's decision to suspend the press credentials of CNN reporter Jim Acosta, who sparred with the president and a White House aide at yesterday's news conference.

Sanders' tweet of the edited video, in which she said the White House would "not tolerate the inappropriate behavior clearly documented in this video", has at least 20,000 retweets and more than 2 million views.

'Horrific Scene': 13 Dead Including Gunman at California Bar
Reports say the suspect may have used smoke grenades and at least one weapon, described as a semi-automatic handgun by witnesses. Dean said he did not know of the shooter's motive, and he did not know of any connection between Long and the Borderline bar .

In response to the incident, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders issued a statement on Twitter saying Acosta placed his hands on the intern and his pass was being suspended "until further notice". "This conduct is absolutely unacceptable", she wrote.

Acosta called Sanders' statement "a lie".

"I'm not a fan of yours either. President Trump has given the press more access than any President in history". "Having said that, I am troubled by pulling the hard pass because-you can argue he was a jerk and he deserves it, but obviously at a certain point you begin to wonder ..." Now, is it appropriate for the president, in taking questions and answers to say that's enough and to decline to other questions? One way to examine the situation is to consider how CNN and the New York Times would describe the incident if the reporter was from Fox News and the intern was from the Obama White House. "They are not only risky, they are disturbingly un-American", the network said, voicing its support for Acosta and "journalists everywhere".

Acosta is CNN's chief White House correspondent.

The adjustment is "too precise to be an accident", said Shapiro, who trains instructors to use video editing software. It called on the White House to reverse a "weak and misguided action".

The clip shows the moment CNN reporter Jim Acosta refused to hand over a microphone to an intern during a heated exchange with US President Donald Trump.
