Pixel 3 XL vs. iPhone XS Max speed test results are pretty embarrassing

Qi wireless charging is an open standard, which makes it weird for Google to purposely cap how fast its phones wirelessly charges.
Google's Pixel 3 is hardly the exception when it comes to Android phones losing to the iPhone XS in speed tests.
The reader reached out to Anker, which told them that the Pixel 3 "sets a limitation for a third-party charging accessories and we are afraid that even our fast wireless charger can only provide 5W for these 2x devices".
Sadly, Google not only made the crucial mistake of releasing its Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL at the tail end of the annual "smartphone season" (which usually kicks off with Samsung's Galaxy Note announcement at the end of August), but the search-giant also stuffed its "next-generation" devices with technology that's quite literally on the cusp of retirement.
Conversely, the Pixel 3 and 3 XL can only reach 10W wireless charging on either the Pixel Stand or any other Google-approved third-party Qi charger. However, if you buy the Rs. 6,900 Pixel Stand, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be able to get wirelessly charged at 10W.
While the Pixel 3 XL lacks speed, it does pack an impressive camera created to take on the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. Not everyone is okay with spending that much money on a wireless charger, but that is the price to pay if they want faster charging. Third-party chargers are capped to a pokey 5W charging speed. There are some other bugs people are reporting with the new Pixels, but apparently Google is committed to fixing them and offering an elevated user experience.
Google will soon roll out a fix for a bug in its new Pixel 3 and 3 XL that's infuriating users who discover that some photos taken are not being saved. Qi is a standard, and a phone should strive to work with every charger.
