Rage Against The Machine, Def Leppard Make 2019 Rock Hall Ballot

Herman Weaver | 10 October, 2018, 10:44

Others potential Hall of Famers on the ballot are LL Cool J, Kraftwek, Devo, Janet Jackson, Stevie Nicks, the Zombies, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan and Kraftwerk.

According to the NY Times, this is the fifth time that LL Cool J has been nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

This year's list of nominees for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame has been announced and probably it's as sonically diverse a lineup of artists that that institution has put together yet.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame notes on their website that "the top five artists, as selected by the public, will comprise a "fans" ballot' that will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the 2019 inductee".

It could be second time lucky for Radiohead, who had their first nomination a year ago. A ceremony honoring them is planned at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on March 29.

Among the acts receiving their first nomination this year were Devo, an avant garde group from Akron, Ohio, best known for its 1980 party favorite "Whip It", as well as British group Roxy Music, and the American multi-instrumentalist Todd Rundgren.

To be eligible in 2018, each artist has to have released a single or an album in or before 1993.

The 2019 inductees are slated to be announced in December. Voting is capped at one ballot per day.
