Most notably, iOS 12.0.1 patches an issue that was causing problems with iPhone charging via Lightning cable. Users who were experiencing shoddy Wi-Fi speeds should see that issue addressed as their devices will now opt for the faster 5GHz network.

"Alongside the charging bug, the firmware update is said to resolve "an issue that could cause iPhone XS devices to rejoin a Wi-Fi network at 2.4GHz instead of 5GHz", while also restoring "the original position of the ".?123" key on the iPad keyboard".

Less than a month after releasing iOS 12, Apple has begun rolling out the first update for the new version of its mobile operating system in order to address a few notable issues that have arisen since launch.

Discovered shortly after the release of iOS 12 and the iPhone XS lineup, the bug sometimes prevented an iPhone from charging when plugged into a wall outlet using a standard Lightning cable.

Apple has released an update for iOS 12 which fixes several bugs experienced by iPhone Xs and Xs Max users, The Verge reports.

The new software also tackles a WiFi annoyance that some users had been reporting. It will also fix an issue where subtitles might not appear in some video apps. Apple switched the position of the key with the one for emoji/language in iOS 12.

The update is only around 100MB and is now available to download on all compatible devices.

If you want it all in Apple's words, the company's release notes are below.

To grab the latest updates, head to your devices settings menu, tap General, and then select Software Update.
