Browns finally decide to cut ties with Josh Gordon

A source told The Athletic that Gordon did not report to the team facility on time Saturday morning.

So while an 0-16 no longer wants Gordon after putting up with his troubles for six years, there's a handful of other teams that will happily accept his talent.

The former Pro Bowler Gordon-who had already been ruled out with a hamstring injury-has played in just 11 games since 2014 due to various suspensions for substance abuse violations. I wish all of you nothing but the best. He has been suspended by the National Football League for most of the past four seasons because of multiple drug violations, and the Browns have been supportive of him for years as he has tried to turn things around.

From shock to weighing in on what it means for Gordon's future and even Dez Bryant, the reactions were priceless. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Gordon suffered the injury during a promotional shoot.

First: Does Gordon's departure open the door again in Cleveland for free agent wide receiver Dez Bryant after the two sides showed some interest in one another in recent weeks?

As Florence moves west, North Carolina prepares for recovery
There have been at least 11 storm-related deaths since Florence, then a Category-1 hurricane, made landfall Friday morning. The triple punch of falling rain, rising rivers and coastal storm surges was already triggering catastrophic floods.

Gordon missed most of training camp on a leave of absence to focus on his ongoing recovery with addiction. He scored last week for Cleveland in its season-opening tie against the Steelers.

Josh Gordon #12 of the Cleveland Browns warms up prior to the game against the Los Angeles Chargers at StubHub Center on December 3, 2017 in Carson, California. He did not play in either 2015 or 2016.

He sat out the first 11 games previous year before returning for Cleveland's final five games.

The Browns selected Gordon in the second round of the 2012 supplemental draft and he led the National Football League in receiving yardage in 2013 despite playing in 14 games but he's served 56 games of suspensions while playing in just 41 games. Promising rookie Antonio Callaway also could get more looks. He was away from the team for nearly the first full month of training camp and did not begin practicing until last week.
