Rafael Nadal dragged in to Serena Williams ‘bulls***’ by fellow ace

Serena Williams vents her anger at umpire Carlos Ramos Serena Williams vents her anger at umpire Carlos Ramos

This is What's Trending Today ...

The 36-year-old had already had a point penalty for smashing her racquet and a code violation for coaching when she was penalised further for calling Ramos a "thief" and a "liar" in NY.

It was enough to get under his thin-skin and some say it enabled newcomer Naomi Osaka to secure her first US Open win against her idol.

During an appearance on Ellen, Osaka also explained how she remained composed while Williams flipped out on umpire Carlos Ramos, and how she feels as the reigning champ. He called it "an unhappy situation" and said he followed the rules of tennis. "Do not worry about me!"

Ramos told the paper that he avoided hitting the streets of NY after the controversial match to sidestep any potential "complicated situations". He will be back to work as umpire on Friday in Zadar, Croatia. Visibly angered by the accusation, Williams confronted Ramos. It later started a larger debate about sexism in tennis. "They had everything to do with observing clear breaches of the grand slam code of conduct and then having the courage to call them without fear or favour".

There was a welfare thing for me in terms of looking after players and he's not had enough break now since 2015. He's got huge competition for places at his club, so you can understand (his frustration)".

The apparent plot to refuse the chair when Williams competes is seemingly a direct response to the treatment Carlos Ramos received for slapping Williams with three code violations during the American's 2-6, 4-6 US Open final loss to Naomi Osaka on September 8.

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) is the governing organization for international tennis.

As Osaka previously recounted, Williams' behavior after the match made her "happy overall", since she directly told attendees to stop booing and instead celebrate the win that occurred. "Mr. Ramos' decisions were in accordance with the relevant rules...." After the tournament was over, the six-time US Open champion was fined $17,000 for her actions during the match.

This is said to be because the CEO of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), Steve Simon, and the U.S. Tennis Association President Katrina Adams, had released statements in support of Serena. She said on Tuesday both sides shared the blame for the incident. "I have a daughter, and I stand for what's right for her", Williams shouted. A Nissan North America spokeswoman confirmed in an email that the USA division does not now have plans to utilize her, adding that "the relationship is early and primarily a global one".
