The state Department of Public Health announced Friday that residents of Fairfield and Newington have tested positive for the potentially fatal West Nile virus infection. No Yolo County residents have been diagnosed with the virus thus far this year. The two equine cases are in Musselshell County and Lake County, according to a press release from the agency.
