Ryanair strike: 400 flights cancelled in pilot walkout
Ryanair strike Dutch pilots are disputing working conditions with the Irish low-fare airline

Dozens of Ryanair flights into and out of United Kingdom will not take place as scheduled on Friday as a result of a strike by pilots in Europe.
It later added in another statement that despite the "regrettable and unjustified strike action" more than 2,000 flights - 85 per cent of its schedule - would operate as normal across Europe.
The Irish budget airline said around 55,000 passengers would be affected by the strikes, and they have been offered refunds or the option of rerouting their journey.
In response to unions serving strike notices, Ryanair had announced the cancellations of 250 flights in and out of Germany, 104 to and from Belgium and another 42 in Sweden and its home market of Ireland, where around a quarter of its pilots were staging their fifth 24-hour walkout.
The airline will hold talks via a mediator on Monday with the Irish pilots union, which said it had no current plans for further strikes. Irish pilots recently staged four one-day walkouts, while cabin crew in Spain, Belgium, Italy and Portugal went on strike on July 25 and 26.
Staff claim this creates huge insecurity for them, blocking their access to state benefits in their country.
The unions are demanding a raise in salaries, unions say, alongside the issuing of more secure working contracts that are valid in each pilot's country of residence (which they claim does not always happen).
Unions representing Ryanair staff said they want work rules to be governed by the laws of countries where employees are based, not the laws in Ireland where Ryanair is headquartered.
But some people took to Twitter to complain at how Ryanair handled the debacle after their flights were canceled.
"We want to again apologise to customers affected by this unnecessary disruption and we ask the striking unions to continue negotiations instead of calling anymore unjustified strikes".
