The deadly 6.9-magnitude quake hit the Indonesian island on Sunday night, leaving tens of thousands of people homeless.

Lombok was hit by three big quakes in little more than a week.

Almost 1500 people have been hospitalised with serious injuries from Sunday's quake and more than 156,000 have been displaced due to the extensive damage to thousands of homes.

This action is part of Net1 Indonesia's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to relieve the burden of victims affected by the Lombok natural disaster, which hit the island on Sunday with a magnitude of 7.

Already weakened structured were seen crumbling under pressure as the island fends off a humanitarian crisis, with thousands having been left homeless and in desperate need of clean water, food, medicine and shelter.

Indonesia's geological agency said today's aftershock had a magnitude of 6.2 and was shallow, at a depth of 7.5 miles, centred in the north-west of the island.

Aid is beginning to reach the northern parts of the island, which were among the worst hit by the quake, but witnesses on the ground in Kayangan said hundreds of people - many young children and elderly - are still waiting for help to reach their area.

Lombok was hit by another natural disaster on Thursday, the third in a little over a week, causing panic, injuries and damage to buildings.

In total, an estimated 20,000 people have been displaced by the massive quake. Indonesia's National Agency for Disaster Management, or BNPB, has stated the official count is 131 deaths, far below the reported estimate.

Workers with heavy machinery are searching the rubble of homes, schools and mosques, with hope of finding any survivors fading.

Over 1,400 people have been injured and the quake has also displaced more than 1,50,000.

President Jokowi has said he would leave for Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), to visit the victims of the Lombok quake next week. He also said they're continuing to look for people with untreated injuries.

Indonesia is prone to earthquakes because of its location on the 'Ring of Fire, ' an arc of volcanoes and fault lines in the Pacific Basin.

Thousands of tourists visiting Lombok - as well as the nearby Gili Islands and Bali - have been evacuated or have chosen to leave since the weekend.
