With Amazon Prime Day on Monday, Target has launched a one-day sale event - touting "no membership necessary" - for a one-day sale on Tuesday. The year 2017 witnessed India's first Prime Day this time in July after which Amazon declared that on Prime Day and in the week leading up to it, more customers had joined Prime than in any full month since the launch of Prime in India.

Consumer electronic retailers are preparing themselves for Amazon Prime Day by holding their own one-day only sales to compete with the online behemoth.

So what can we expect from Prime Day in the United Kingdom and US? Let's take a closer look at all the benefits of Amazon Prime, what Prime membership costs, and how you can sign up and get started.

Watch the video above for advice on discounted Prime memberships. This is highly useful in case you buy a lot from Amazon and your area is covered by its priority shipping. Amazon's in-house products like Kindle, Echo, Fire TV Stick - among others - are also being offered up for good deals and discounts.

Another major benefit that Amazon offers its Prime members is free ad-free access to Prime Video and Prime Music. Amazon Prime users will also be able to avail a Kindle Unlimited subscription at a discounted price of Rs 1,388, down from the regular Rs 2,388 fee. Telecom operators like Airtel and Vodafone are now offering promotional plans with free or discounted Amazon Prime membership options.

But the company struggled to increase automation and production capacity at the same time after launching the Model 3 . Musk had earlier said that China's progress in advanced infrastructure is "more than 100 times faster than the USA ".

There are also plenty of deals going live on 4K TVs, laptops, smart home gear, fashion, alcohol, baby stuff, toys, mobile phones and honestly pretty much every product category you can imagine.

Although the sale is only exclusive to Prime customers, Amazon have granted non-members a chance to qualify for the big discounts by registering for a 30-day free trial. Setting a calendar reminder on your phone or computer might help you not forget to cancel. An Amazon Prime member is more likely to buy from Amazon than from rival e-commerce portals like Flipkart.

Once your plan has been switched, you'll need to download Vodafone Play on your smartphone to activate the offer.

Simply go to Amazon's website or fire up Amazon's mobile app on Android. iOS users can not directly purchase Prime membership from the app. Just ask, "Alexa, what are my Prime Day deals?"
