Football pundits and former worldwide players Roy Keane and Ian Wright went head-to-head in an amusing live on-air debate, after England's exit to Croatia in the World Cup semi-final.

One tweet read: "Roy Keane, you never got anywhere f***ing near aWorld Cup final".

He made a very valid point in the fact that England fans were well entitled to be excited, but perhaps got a little bit ahead of themselves by "planning the final and parades".

Roy Keane saw this coming from a mile away.

Wright, for his part, defend his right to get excited in ITV's coverage and took revenge by mocking Keane's accent.

"We weren't talking about the final".

On the JOE World Cup Minipod special, Paddy McKenna and Dion Fanning are joined by Paul Howard to discuss England journey.

The former Manchester United midfielder was alongside Ian Wright, Gary Neville and Lee Dixon.

The Irish pundit, not known for his sympathetic outlook, told Wright - who missed out on the 1994 World Cup finals when England failed to qualify - that he has "no idea what it's like to get to a final".

One person said: "Watching Ian Wright and Roy Keane shouting over each other for two minutes was the worst TV I've seen in a long time".

"We weren't talking about the final, we were just having a laugh with you".

"The whole yesterday and today they were talking about the final the final the final", Keane began.

Another added: "He's won a lot more than you Ed".

Keane responded saying England should have taken the tournament "one day at a time". "We were happy, you weren't happy for us to be happy at that time".

A fired up Keane started the debate as he suggested many England fans had lost track of reality as they got carried away with the excitement of their World Cup run, with Wright eager to snap back at the Irishman in typically jovial fashion.
