After he left the G7 summit in Quebec on Saturday, Trump posted a series of Tweets criticizing Trudeau for staying firm on the counter-tariffs imposed in reaction to US tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum.

Trump met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the G7 summit over the weekend.

It's statements like that one from Trump Trade Adviser Peter Navarro that has Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's approval rating up 12 points, according to a new survey.

Navarro said Sunday that his sentiment came "right from Air Force One".

"I actually like Justin, you know, I think he's good, I like him, but he shouldn't have done that", Trump said. But here's what the story is: We have been taken advantage of as a country for decades by friends and enemies both, ' Trump said.

But Trump didn't seem impressed by the comment.

"That's going to cost a lot of money for the people of Canada", Trump told reporters Tuesday in Singapore.

"The idea that we could impose a national security threat to you is more than absurd, it's hurtful", she said at an event hosted by Foreign Policy, where she accepted the news magazine's Diplomat of the Year award.

At the G-7 summit, Trudeau doubled down and said, "Canadians will not be pushed around".

Trudeau said after the G-7 meeting that the aluminum and steel tariffs imposed by the USA on Canada on national security grounds were insulting and that "Canadians are polite, we're reasonable, but we also will not be pushed around". The president's chief economic advisor told Jake Tapper on Sunday that Trudeau "stabbed us in the back" with his post-G7 remarks, calling it a "sophomoric play".

Trump has consistently railed against what he claims are unfair trade practices by some of America's biggest trade partners, including Canada.

Legal changes to make Trudeau the Supreme Leader of Canada for life with absolute authority are underway, after which Canada predicts it will be the recipient of a great deal of admiration and courteous attention from a fawning Trump.

The two-day summit in Charlevoix, Quebec, featured a tense standoff between Trump and other G7 leaders. Many Republicans are reluctant to pick a fight with Trump over trade right now as he seeks better deals with China and a slew of USA allies.

"I don't care how mad, how angry you are, you don't treat the head of state of another country like that unless you are getting ready for a military engagement of some kind", he said. We provide our community with the opportunity to share their opinions and vote on topics that matter most to them.

One man even tweeted a photo of his "Trump free" grocery cart filled with Canadian products. US exports of goods and services to Canada supported an estimated 1.6 million jobs in 2015, according to the Department of Commerce.

MacLauchlan also took the opportunity to affirm his support for the supply management system in Canada's dairy industry, which has been heavily attacked by members of the Trump administration.
