Patty Jenkins, the director for the first film and the sequel, tweeted a photo on Wednesday of Pine in character as Trevor, dressed in sweats and sneakers and inside a shopping mall.

Warner Bros. has sent out a press release announcing the movie, and it reveals some interesting info.

We certainly didn't know that her human love, Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), would be making an appearance - unaged and seemingly whole. Nevertheless, he appears looking sharp as ever, albeit confused, in the year 1984. Diana Prince may not age like ordinary mortals, but Trevor surely does; so how come he still looks so fresh-faced all these decades after the first film, set in World War I? In addition to Gadot and Pine, the sequel's cast includes Pedro Pascal and Kristen Wiig in the role of the super-villain The Cheetah.

While the rest of the DCEU is in something of a state of flux with talks of Ben Affleck exiting his Batman role, the success of 2017's Wonder Woman made a sequel all-but guaranteed.

"Wonder Woman" was a critically acclaimed box office sensation last summer, earning $821.8 million worldwide including $412.5 million in North America.

Yes, against all odds, Steve Trevor lives, though writer-director Patty Jenkins is yet to offer an explanation for his surprise return and, frankly, that's okay, as the filmmaker is likely fighting to keep spoilers at bay. Oscar-nominated editor Richard Pearson ("United 93") will cut the film.

The movie, which is filming now in Virginia and Washington, DC, is slated to be released on November 1, 2019.
