According to the police in Memphis, a city located along the US Mississippi River, the video was shared online showing the two children getting out of pet kennels in the 3700 block of Elvis Presley Blvd Saturday evening.

She was reportedly charged with two counts of child endangerment.

The report also notes that the temperature "reached 95 degrees and there were no vents in the rear of the Ford Explorer". She seems like a nice lady.

The bystander, who asked to remain anonymous, sent the video to Memphis Police.

The children, ages 7 and 8, told police that they were placed in the cages because there wasn't enough room inside the vehicle, according to a charging affidavit obtained by ABC affiliate WATN.

The children were told to ride inside the kennel because there was no room inside the vehicle. I only met her like once maybe twice.

Cheeks told police that she traveled with the children in the kennel from Collierville to Whitehaven because there was no room for them in the auto, Cleveland 19 News reports.

The issues of child abuse and endangerment have been at the forefront of the public awareness ever since 13 children were discovered shackled and held captive in a Perris, California, home last January.

In an affidavit, Cheeks admitted to placing the children in the pet kennels and transporting them from Whitehaven to Collierville to Downtown Memphis. "Wow", neighbor Skylark Blake said. "It's a huge mistake, get some help yeah but put her in jail, it's hard to say", he added. She is set to appear in court on Monday, the station reported.
