‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel: Here’s HBO’s Full Description of the New Story

Game of Thrones Prequel Pilot Greenlit at HBO ‘Game Of Thrones’ Prequel From Jane Goldman & George R.R. Martin Gets HBO Pilot Order

The true origin of the White Walkers, the "mysteries of the East", and the Starks of ages past will be covered.

The first news about HBO's plan for a "Game of Thrones" successor show came Friday after with Entertainment Weekly's report on an ordered pilot. Martin has previously stated that none of the series are spinoffs (they're prequels), and that the current main cast of GOT would not be involved.

Regardless of the next steps, we'll have to be patient.

Game of Thrones returns for its final season in 2019. It's also worth mentioning that only a pilot has been greenlit, so there's still a chance it won't make it to series, but there is still plenty of time, as the earliest it can show up is 2020, a year after Game of Thrones ends. Numerous most famous houses in Westeros trace their roots back to the Age of Heroes as well including House Stark and House Lannister. While nothing else has been revealed about the new prequel series, it's plenty to go off of for fans who have been waiting for any bit of information about these new prequels.

USF Places 5th In U.S. In 'Young University' Rankings
The US has more top 50 institutions (19) than any other nation, followed by the United Kingdom (8) and Australia (5). The top four were all American - Stanford, Harvard, and California Institute of Technology followed Mass IT.

And if you thought that Game of Thrones told you all of the dark details you needed to know, think again. Any "successor series", as HBO has called them, would follow the final season.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the untitled show is set "thousands" of years before the events of HBO's Game of Thrones. Vince Gerardis and Daniel Zelman also serve as executive producers on the pilot. Goldman's most notable works has included movies like "Kick Ass", "X-Men: First Class", and the "Kingsman" action movie franchise. Ben Wheatley has recently signed on to helm her adaptation of Rebecca, and her screenplay for Disney's live action The Little Mermaid is now in development, with new musical numbers by Alan Menken and Lin Manuel Miranda.

This is presumably a reference to The Long Night, the most brutal and terrifying winter in the history of Westeros.
