President Donald Trump's disclosure that he "reimbursed" personal attorney Michael Cohen for as much as $250,000 previous year comes in a footnote to his financial disclosure report.

Cohen has admitted to having paid $130,000 to the adult film actress, Stephanie Clifford ― also known as Stormy Daniels ― after she went public about an affair that she claims to have had with Trump. The money was meant to keep her from discussing an alleged extramarital affair with Trump prior to the 2016 election.

On May 2, Rudy Giuliani, the former NY mayor who joined Trump's personal legal team in April, said Trump had reimbursed Cohen for the payment. "The information related to the payment made by Mr. Cohen is required to be reported", the officials said.

The disclosure did not specify what the reimbursement was for, and gave just a range: $101,000-$250,000.

President Donald Trump has submitted his annual financial disclosure to the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, and it is expected to be released publicly in the coming days.

Mr. Ehrat, who has been Novartis' group general counsel since 2011, made the decision to retire "in the context of discussions" surrounding the payment to President Trump's personal lawyer.

The ethics disclosure draws a clearer connection between Trump and Cohen and further underlines inconsistencies in descriptions provided by Trump and aides about the payments.

The Mar-a-Lago resort, where the president frequently escapes for winter weekends, collected more than $25 million last year, down from $37 million from last year's report. The disclosure was not included in Trump's 2017 filing.

Trump's disclosure, which includes all of 2017 and part of 2018, is being closely watched to see whether it will disclose the $130,000 paid to porn star Stormy Daniels on his behalf by his attorney Michael Cohen. It says Trump "fully reimbursed Mr. Cohen in 2017".

The ethics disclosure also contained information on Trump's personal businesses. He was the first presidential candidate in decades to refuse to release his personal tax returns, and hasn't released them as President.
