The agency has taken over investigation into the three cases on the request of the Uttar Pradesh government.

Additional chief judicial magistrate of the CBI court Sunil Kumar also approved judicial remand of the accused from April 21 until April 28.

CBI is also likely to grill the suspended policemen and a few senior police officials of Unnao district, while they are trying to link the crime with the family members of the MLA, including his brother Atul, who is also in jail.

In the first FIR, the CBI named Sengar and Shashi Singh, a woman who allegedly took the rape victim to the BJP leader's house.

On Saturday morning, the CBI team probing the matter had brought the victim to Lucknow for a medical examination, which was done at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital; subsequently, the sleuths took the victim to the CBI office, where she confronted the accused.

Asserting that strict against will be taken against the accused in the Unnao alleged gang-rape case, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today said his government would not compromise on its policy of "zero tolerance" against crime and corruption. CBI sources told that during investigation certain inconsistencies were found in Sengar's statements over the rape incident for which agency will require his custody. The teen from Unnao has accused the BJP UP MLA of raping her in June 2017. The lawmaker from Bangarmau in Unnao district has also been charged under Sections 363 and 366 (kidnapping of a minor girl), 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. But, this was only after the Allahabad High Court adopted an incredibly harsh stance directing the state government to arrest Kuldeep Singh Sengar. Earlier on Thursday, the Adityanath government had lodged a case of rape against Sengar but decided against arresting him and threw the ball in CBIs court which it said would take a call on the matter.

According to the postmortem report, the father was not given proper treatment at the judicial custody.

The third case pertains to the allegations against the victims father, who was arrested by the police under the Arms Act and put in jail, where he died.
