
RJD chief Lalu Prasad was admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) on Saturday evening following complaints of recurring fever and rectal bleeding.
A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Ranchi will on Monday pronounce the verdict in the fourth case related to multi-million rupees fodder scam involving former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and several others.
Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences SK Chowdhary said the former chief minister was admitted to the cardiology wing and was now under observation, The Indian Express reported.
Lalu Prasad Yadav is already serving jail term of 13.5 years in three fodder cases and is lodged in the Birsa Munda jail in Ranchi. "After that the date of judgement will be fixed", Lalu Yadav's lawyer Prabhat Kumar had said.
Prasad and others are accused of fraudulently withdrawing Rs. 3.13 crore from Dumka treasury between December 1995 and January 1996, when the former was the chief minister of undivided Bihar.

CBI Judge Shivpal Singh had earlier fixed the date for this verdict on March 15, but the decision was postponed due to the petition filed by Lalu. Former Bihar CM Jagannath Mishra was also found guilty and awarded a five-year jail term for embezzling funds from the Chaibasa treasury. The RJD supremo is now in Ranchi's Birsa Munda prison where he is serving a 13.5-year prison term. Later, a special CBI court convicted him in the second case on December 23, 2017, and awarded three-and-half years' imprisonment on January 6.
Lalu Prasad was convicted in the first fodder scam case in 2013 and awarded five years in jail.
The cases pertain to allegedly fraudulent withdrawals from the treasuries of multiple districts in Bihar when Yadav was chief minister.
