Lance Lynn might not have to wait any longer to find out where he'll play baseball next, as the starting pitcher is close to signing a one-year deal with the Minnesota Twins, reports FanRag Sports' Jon Heyman.

Lynn was one of a few free agents still yet to sign with a team as spring training is under way and the deal makes sense for both Lynn and the Twins.

Tomorrow there is a 50% chance for showers, with rain looking more likely during the afternoon. Wind gusts in this same zone may be strong enough to knock down trees and cause power outages.

Lynn, 30, has been a double-digit victor with the Cardinals five times and owns a 3.38 ERA in 183 career games. The deal, which is pending a physical, has an additional $2 million in performance bonuses as well. The larger concern for Lynn is how good he truly is. Lynn declined a qualifying offer of $17.4 million with the St. Louis Cardinals earlier this offseason. In his first season back from Tommy John surgery in 2017, he recorded a 3.43 ERA, meaning that he's kept his ERA under 4 in all six of his major-league seasons. They will also lose $500,000 in their worldwide free-agent budget. He will join a rotation that includes the recently acquired Jake Odorizzi, Jose Berrios and Ervin Santana.
