Just weeks after the 2018 Winter Olympics, Mikaela Shiffrin secured her second straight overall World Cup title at a giant slalom race on Friday in Ofterschwang, Germany.
Shiffrin's second run, though slightly slower at 54.85 seconds, was still enough to seal her victory. With one race remaining, she leads world giant slalom champion Tessa Worley by 92 points in the discipline standings with one race remaining.
Shiffrin is also on pace to win the World Cup slalom title, something she also did in 2013-15 and 2017.
