Solar Eclipse 2018 today: Time, location and where to see it

A Solar Storm Will Hit The Earth Today Surya Grahan 2018: Dates and time of first solar eclipse of 2018
Herman Weaver | 15 February, 2018, 16:13

On the 15th of February, will be the partial solar eclipse. This is not likely for us due to a large amount of cloud cover and the sun coming up around that time, but those on the west coast of the USA may see them. The Northern Lights are expected to make an appearance, shining in the night sky across Canada on Wednesday and Thursday, due to the impacts of an approaching solar storm! There is a specific schedule that can be worked out based upon the movements of the Earth and the moon. When a CME cloud plows through the solar wind, high velocity solar energetic particles can be produced and because they are charged, they must follow the magnetic field lines that pervade the space between the Sun and the Earth.

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory Satellite captured a solar flare on the sun releasing a coronal mass ejection (CME) around 8:25 p.m. ET Sunday.

So, ordinarily, at the time of new phase, the moon will pass either above or below the sun, with no eclipse.

Solar flares impact Earth only when they occur on the side of the sun facing Earth. "They explode into space at very high speed when the sun's magnetic field lines suddenly organize". And depending on just how far the moon is from the node, the moon will dip partly or completely into the Earth's shadow. The entire eclipse will take 2 hours.

This transit happened at the start of the eclipse season for the SDO.

'Most spacecraft observing the Sun from an orbit around Earth have to contend with such eclipses. A Solar eclipse never comes alone, it usually comes with after one or two-week of Lunar Eclipse.

On this specific event, the moon will cover the sun for nearly two hours. That is, the moon was moving on a southwest-to-northeast trajectory when it passed through the intersection point with the Earth's orbital plane. Those in the south of Rio Gallegos and in Falkland Islands too would be able to witness the Solar Eclipse February 15, 2018. In a total solar eclipse the moon moves in between the sun and the earth in such a way that the sun's rays can not reach the earth. It is visible in South America and in Antarctica.

From there, the sun will appear about 10 degrees above the west-southwest horizon (equal to the width of your clenched fist held at arm's length). The probe's mission is to observe and study the Sun's upper atmosphere.

An animation of the eclipse shows that it will begin over Antarctica and will move up and over parts of South America.

This is the second solar eclipse in six months, according to TIME.

A partial Solar Eclipse takes place on February 15, but it is only visible in Southern American and Antarctica. The February eclipse will be magnitude 0.599 at its maximum. When the eclipse is in progress at sunset, this information is indicated by "-s". Although the solar flare was not that large, NOAA issued A G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storm watch, in effect for Thursday. Don't look at the partially eclipsed sun with telescope, binoculars or unfiltered camera.

When will India see a solar eclipse? It was also the first time that a total solar eclipse was visible in many parts of the United States since 1776.

Unfortunately throughout 2018 only partial eclipses will occur, but astronomers at the Royal Observatory Greenwich believe they are a "remarkable" event regardless. This time, I am lecturing at the Galileo Galilei Planetarium and giving additional newspaper interviews.

What will we see during the partial solar eclipse?
