Jewargi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday defended his visits to temples and religious places, asserting that he would continue it.

Karnataka BJP chief BS Yeddyurappa on Monday hit out at Congress President Rahul Gandhi for reportedly visiting a temple after eating "Javari chicken" during his ongoing tour of northern parts of the poll-bound state. The Congress leader said RSS is running the government and BJP has planted its people in every department and ministry. According to the Congress president, this approach was contrary to his party's, which was to let the people capture the institution.

Taking a dig at the NDA government's foreign policy, Gandhi said "It is alarming to see China's presence in our neighbourhood. We interact with them regularly", Ram Madhav, former RSS spokesperson and now National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said while talking with Ajit Sahi of Tehelka in an April, 2009 interview.

Addressing people who had gathered to welcome him before he continued his campaign in the state's Hyderabad-Karnataka region, Rahul also lashed out at BJP leaders in the state. Do you know who gave the idea of note-bandi to the Prime Minister of India?
