President Donald Trump said on Friday the White House would soon release a letter regarding the possible release of a classified memo written by Democrats to rebut a Republican document claiming FBI and Justice Department bias against him in the federal probe of Russian Federation and the 2016 us election. "The meaning of the "(and more)" was not immediately clear. So they wish to send this memo back to the committee.

Trump had said earlier on Friday he planned to release the document.

He also said Trump blocked the memo because it "undermines his claim of vindication" from the probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

"Clearly, the President has something to hide", she added.

White House legislative affairs director Marc Short blasted Schiff's initial push to publish the Democratic memo in an interview Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press".

In another tweet, Trump quoted a report by The New York Times, a newspaper who otherwise disparages as "fake news", that U.S. spies ended up paying $100,000 to a "shadowy Russian" who promised, among other things, to deliver "compromising material" on Trump.

White House counsel Don McGahn II released a statement Friday stating Trump was "inclined" but "unable" to release the Democratic memo because it "contains numerous properly classified and especially sensitive passages", according to Politico. The Republicans' 3 1/2-page memo focused on the FBI's use of material from a former British spy, Christopher Steele, to obtain a warrant to spy on Carter Page, the former Trump campaign official.

"If he redacts it or doesn't release it, 'Oh, he's not for transparency, '" Mr. Jordan said.

He has also reportedly been seeking ways to fire Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, the only person empowered to dismiss the man undertaking the investigation, special counsel Robert Mueller - and hence derail, or seriously impede, the probe. "All we can do is make criminal referrals", the California Republican said. Nothing. We've been expecting to hear what the president would do about this Democratic memo by the Democrats on the House intel committee.

The disagreements have escalated over the previous year as Democrats have charged that Republicans aren't taking the panel's investigation into Russian election meddling seriously enough. It is 10 pages, while the GOP memo is four pages.

A day after the White House told House Democrats to edit an intelligence memo about the probe of Russian interference in the 2016 elections in order to remove sensitive intelligence materials, President Donald Trump accused Democrats of adding in too much classified information on goal, as Republicans said the President's critics were simply playing political games over the Russia investigation. Democrats have been calling on Trump to release their memo for days. In fact, the Obama administration told the FISA court nothing at all about the fact that the Steele "dossier" was entirely the creation of the Democratic Party.

The dossier was produced by Christopher Steele, a former British spy and a long-time Federal Bureau of Investigation resource, based mainly on material provided to him by sources linked to Russian government and business interests.
