Paul George scores 29 points with 9 rebounds for short-handed Thunder

Carmelo Anthony's night cut short due to sprained right ankle Carmelo Anthony (ankle) status in question for Oklahoma City Thunder's game against Los Angeles Lakers

The Thunder are set to play the Lakers on Thursday, so it's worth noting that these questions are timely.

Anthony played just six minutes in the Thunder's 125-105 win against Golden State on Tuesday after turning his right ankle early into the first quarter.

Point spread: The Thunder opened as 5.5-point favorites; the total is at 216.5, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. Meanwhile, 75% of betting tickets wagered at online sports are on the over.

Steven Adams was the only other Thunder player to score in double figures with 13 points, and added 9 rebounds.

With the National Basketball Association trade deadline being later today at 3pm ET, it wouldn't be surprising to hear about at least one team send a trade offer to the Thunder to see if they can pry away PG13.

Julius Randle had 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists, and Kyle Kuzma scored 16 off the bench as Los Angeles won its seventh straight game at home.

George praised the two young players following the game.

The Lakers seem to be coming together following the nine-game skid that preceded this positive stretch. He had 22 points at the break, making 8 of 14 shots from the field and 4 of 6 from the 3-point line, while the rest of the Oklahoma City lineup shot 27 percent (10 of 37). With the win, Oklahoma City improved to 31-24 overall and 12-15 on the road.

On the other side, the Lakers are a flawless 7-0 against the spread in their last seven home games, are 11-1 against the number in their last 12 games when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game, and are 6-0 against the number in their last six home games versus a team with a losing road record.

That George won't be traded isn't a surprise, but it's noteworthy that Oklahoma City isn't realistically entertaining offers.

Amick reported that the Los Angeles Lakers are the biggest threat to sign with George, with the veteran forward being a California native.
