YouTube suspends Logan Paul's ad revenue because he's still making bad decisions

It's only a matter of time before Logan Paul is back to make a tearful apology now that his income stream has been cut off.

YouTube has stopped all adverts on Logan Paul's vlogging channels.

The video in question, titled "The Pauls Respond to the CSI Fight", was posted to the 22-year-old's YouTube channel, which boasts more than 16 million followers, on February 5.

According to YouTube's community guidelines, advertising won't appear on YouTube channels that have had monetisation disabled - a effect of violating YouTube's terms of service. While the video drew millions of views it also drew fervent rebukes from people on social media who said it made light of a tragic issue. After a three-week self-imposed hiatus, Paul returned with a lavishly made video on suicide awareness, claiming he wanted to be part of the "solution".

YouTube has suspended advertising on video blogger Logan Paul's channels owing to his "pattern of behaviour". While the company's previous punishment removed Paul from its top-tier ad revenue streams, this decision will keep him from profiting on any of his content until the decision is reversed. In the days since Paul has been back in action, he has uploaded videos of himself encouraging people to take the Tide Pod challenge and shocking a dead rat with a taser.

I say this not to defend Logan Paul, but keep in mind that his video featuring the suicide victim was promoted by YouTube who took no action against Paul until it became clear the backlash wasn't just going to blow over.

Since returning to the site, Logan's posted more videos which some people aren't happy with.

Speaking to Polygon, a YouTube representative stated that Paul's entire channel is "unsuitable for advertisers" and "potentially damaging to the broader creator community". As I pointed out earlier today, even though he makes hundreds of thousands of dollars from ads (the exact amount is unknown and has only been estimated by different analytics companies) removing ads was only a partial sanction, since Paul monetizes in other ways, including merchandising. I'm not going anywhere. What interests me about this story is the statement YouTube gave Variety on the incident.
