Intel CEO addresses Spectre and Meltdown bugs at CES keynote

US senators call for probe into Intel CEO's stock dump before Meltdown disclosure US senators call for probe into Intel CEO's stock dump before Meltdown disclosure

Mr Krzanich took a moment at the beginning of his address at the tech fair to refer to the design issues discovered by researchers on some Intel, ARM and AMD chips.

Intel, like other manufacturers, have been busy exploring the possibilities of quantum computing, which discard the traditional binary ones and zeroes for superpositional states that can represent several additional values. The past week has been the most discordant for Intel in a while, but data-only band Algorithm helped them chipmaker start-off with all the right notes at the world's largest tech show.

Krzanich noted Intel's promising research into neuromorphic computing, a new type of computing architecture that mimics the way brains observe, learn and understand.

Recent revelations about processor architectures within Intel chips which has the potential to affect nearly all computers and users worldwide, either by making sensitive data vulnerable or massively slowing down processing times, have made headline news globally.

The company said Krzanich's stock sale was part of a predetermined plan that legal experts say is usually established to shield corporate executives from accusations of insider trading. "As audiences are moving from a flat screen to an immersive experience we'll be able to convey the world in a way closer to reality than cinema has ever been able to do before", Paramount CEO and Chairman Jim Gianopulos said Monday at CES. It's a symbol of what's possible, Krzanich said, as Intel seeks to remake itself. Using the same SEC rule for trades by company officials, the CEO had exercised options and sold shares generally at monthly or quarterly intervals in the prior two years, involving no more than 80,000 shares in any given transaction, according to Mr. Silverman's analysis. That was an unusual move by a CEO, Mr. Silverman said. "He is suddenly selling an enormous amount of stock", Silverman said. "The size and selling behavior were unusual".

Dark Souls 2 And Dark Souls 3 Coming To Nintendo Switch
Additionally, it will have soundtracks for each of the games, knight and bonfire bookends, an encyclopedia, and a special art set. That could rely on how well the Switch version of Dark Souls: Remastered sells, but that's just speculation on my part.

Tyrod Taylor knocked out of Bills playoff game with under 2 minutes
They have a win-now defense with pass-rushers and aggressive coverage corners. "There's a lot of other things that are going on". Even though Buffalo made the playoffs, they still have not managed to win a playoff game since 1995. "We just didn't play well".

Power outage at CES lasts more than one hour
The biggest electronics show in the world will include some really large products this year - cars. A large trend in this year's show will be the interconnectivty of home devices.

Was Krzanich Aware of the Security Flaw?

The SEC declined to comment on the letter and the Justice Department didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. Of course, this problem isn't unique to Intel, with major companies like Google and Apple also falling within the purview of the attacks but it was Intel's initial response which seemed to disappoint many. He said that Intel is working with them to lessen the impact of any fixes.

Proving that the sale was improper could be tough, legal experts say. Intel is also partnering with NavInfo, a mapping firm also based in China.

Particularly galling for many was the news that a number of huge industry names were in the know, but had chosen to resolve the problem and then release the news en masse, as a damage limitation exercise.

The QuTech team - which received US$50 million from Intel in 2015, and separately partners with Microsoft on its topological quantum effort - is now testing the 17-qubit test chip it received from Intel in October. Companies from Microsoft to Apple have announced efforts to patch the vulnerabilities.
