There have been no illnesses reported so far in connection to the products.

A NY company has issued a voluntary recall of ice cream bars due to a possible listeria contamination.

The products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The recalled Top's Orange Cream Bars, which come in a 12-ct retail box with a production date of December 18, 2017, and a "best by" date of December 18, 2018, were sold in Tops retail stores in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts. The ice cream bars are sold at several local stores including Giant Food Stores, Aldi, Shop Rite, Acme, BJ's and Dollar Tree.

People may suffer only short-term symptoms, like high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, but Listeria can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

Listeria can cause serious - and sometimes fatal - infections.

The ice cream was sold at Smart & Final and other various stores.

The potential for contamination was noted after routine industry testing revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in only a few ice cream bar samples of many tested. List of stores and brands affectedThe recalled products have a production date of January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017 and a "best by" date of January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018. All production on this line has been suspended while the company and the FDA investigate the issue. Anyone with questions may call Fieldbrook at 800-333-0805, ext.

The products should be thrown away or returned to a store for a refund, according to the FDA.

At Bi-Lo, the products were sold under the Southern Home brand, according to a news release from parent company Southeastern Grocers.
