EXPLOSIVE: Trump slams Haiti and African nations as 'shithole countries'

NYT's Strange New Approval for Trump as He Considers Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants Deal Made on DACA by Bipartisan Group of Senators, Sen. Jeff Flake Says; White House Skeptical

President Donald Trump reportedly lashed out in a Thursday meeting with lawmakers about immigration reform, demanding to know why the United States should accept citizens from what he called "s***hole" countries. Aides said Trump appeared to agree with the deal earlier in the day, but became frustrated with it during the meeting.

Elijah Cummings, a Maryland Democratic lawmaker, tweeted: "I condemn this unforgivable statement and this demeaning of the office of the Presidency".

The administration announced it was removing El Salvador's protections this week. Just this week, the Trump Adminstration said it was removing TPS for about 200,0000 Salvadorans who were allowed to live and work legally in the United States since the 2001 earthquakes that killed 1,100 people and displaced more than 1 million. "They worked hard, paid taxes, and rose from nothing to take care of and provide opportunities for their children".

Trump has called himself the "least racist person that you've ever met".

Asked about the remarks, White House spokesman Raj Shad defended the president but did not directly deny his remarks.

It follows a handful of inflammatory comments made by Mr Trump about other countries. The bipartisan deal they proposed included cutting the visa lottery program by 50 percent, prioritizing countries now in the system, restoring protections for countries that had been removed and allocating $1.5 billion for a border wall. And it isn't like this country has ignored Haiti - we've been trying to lift it out of s-hole status for more than a century, with absolutely no result whatever.

A White House spokesperson defended the comment, saying: "Certain Washington politicians choose to fight for foreign countries, but President Trump will always fight for the American people".

After 75 minutes with Norway's prime minister, Donald Trump goes green
Donald Trump was then pressed again on whether or not he would meet with Robert Mueller , and elaborated further. Solberg, by contrast, cited her support of the agreement, which she said would help American businesses.

State Sen. Kwame Raoul, D-Chicago, who born in Chicago to Haitian immigrants, said Trump's comments show his "ignorance of the contributions Haitians have made to this country, as well as other immigrant nations".

One White House official stated that Sens.

The remarks show that Trump, with nearly a year of presidential experience under his belt, is not much different than candidate Trump, who said in a speech announcing his candidacy, "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best".

The reported comments come as Trump and lawmakers are in negotiations over immigration reform. For the rest of us, revulsion is a more common reaction, and a desire to strictly limit immigration from there to those people we can properly vet is quite appropriate.

When House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Bakersfield) told Trump that a separate group of congressional leaders was planning to continue its own discussions later Thursday, the president told them: "Go do that", according to Cotton.

The group's proposal also did not fully end family unification, also known as "chain migration", and only delayed the ability of Dreamers to bring in some other family members, including their adult siblings.

UPDATE - 5:20pm EST: Buzzfeed News has spoken to a source who confirms that the "sh*thole" comment occurred.
