The Minnesota Vikings are supporting wide receiver Michael Floyd's defense that kombucha tea caused him to violate terms of his house arrest by accidentally ingesting alcohol.

Floyd had reportedly tested positive for alcohol at least three times earlier this month while on house arrest.

Gossip web site TMZ reported June 16 that Floyd's alcohol-monitoring system flagged five random tests for "high-alcohol" content, which Floyd denied.

In his letter, Warren explained that many pro athletes use kombucha as a probiotic and that it is available daily at the Vikings' facility.

This all stems back to the wideout's December DUI arrest, when he was found asleep behind the wheel of his running vehicle at a traffic light with a blood-alcohol level of.217.

The two leaders are expected to push for closer co-operation on defence and global security. This is in addition to the 22 Predator Guardian drones that the USA will supply to India.

The house-arrest sentence was transferred from Arizona to Minnesota last month, allowing Floyd to participate in the Vikings' offseason program.

"When we signed Michael Floyd, we hoped he would show signs of improvement and we continue to expect that he shows progress and a professional attitude", Spielman said.

Floyd will serve his one day in jail starting Monday at 8 p.m.

The Vikings, who signed Floyd in May, released a statement on Monday supporting him. He blamed the results on kombucha, a fermented tea. To clarify, the kombucha we bought was not in the alcohol section and we were not carded.

On June 12, a day after Floyd's missed test and the alcohol was recognized in his body, Sentinel Advantage, the company that provides the devices, stopped monitoring Floyd. Floyd said he failed the tests after drinking kombucha tea while watching movies with teammate Kyle Rudolph on June 11.
