An amateur radio field day demonstrated the science, skill, and service, of the ham radio.
The club operates out of the former Wings of Honor Museum and members meet monthly to practice operation.
Club members say the event prepares them for local and long distance communication in emergency situations.
Ham radio operators are amateurs with licenses from the Federal Communications Commission.
