Authorities say the man who opened fire on GOP lawmakers on Wednesday was carrying a list of Republicans, according to NBC News.

The Daily Caller's report did not identify the source of its information.

The names on the list reportedly include Reps. Mo Brooks of Alabama, Jeff Duncan of SC and Trent Franks of Arizona. Fox News reported after this story that Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, Tennessee Rep. Scott DesJarlais and Virginia Rep. Morgan Griffith are also on the list.

Catherine Herridge reported on "Tucker Carlson" tonight that all of the congressmen are associated with the conservative House Freedom Caucus.

The FBI has contacted the congressmen to inform them of their inclusion on the list.

Adding to uncertainty about the list, Franks was not on the baseball team.

Trump uses social media to question probe of his campaign
The president complained the probe is unfair and wondered why his defeated Democratic opponent wasn't getting the same scrutiny. Mueller has the authority to investigate whether Trump tried to obstruct justice which is a potentially impeachable offence.

"For those still wondering, he didn't hate baseball or handsome summer mornings in June", White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said in reference to this article.

"Fox News understands that the Capitol Hill police have reached out independently to all of the offices on the list", Herridge said.

Both Duncan and Brooks attended Wednesday's baseball practice.

James Hodgkinson began firing at Republicans during a baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia. Duncan said he told him it was a Republican ball practice, and Hodgkinson started to shoot them. Duncan said he answered that the players were Republicans, before leaving the field. Among those was House Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana, who remains hospitalized after undergoing several surgeries after being shot in the hip. He was shot by a responding officer and later died from his wounds.

Inside that vehicle, agents recovered a cell phone, a camera and a computer.

Hodgkinson was a volunteer for the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign previous year and has comments on his social media accounts strongly criticizing President Trump. "It's Time to Destroy Trump & Co.", Hodgkinson wrote in a March 22 post. He had been a vocal opponent of the Republican Party.
