Apple iOS 11: 3 Features That Can Ruin Google Android

Doris Mccormick | 17 May, 2017, 13:32

The company's hardware products include the iPhone smartphone, the iPad tablet computer, the Mac personal computer, the iPod portable media player, the Apple smartwatch, and the Apple TV digital media player.

The news comes for a report by tech publication GBR, which cites a source "close to Apple". A new report is suggesting that Apple plans to discontinue the 7.9-inch iPad sometime in the future, which is a claim supported by the lack of updates to the smaller iPad in recent years.

A purportedly low-priced 9.7- inch iPad is expected to carry over the A9X processor, also manufactured by TSMC. And it may not impact overall sales significantly because many potential iPad Mini purchasers would stay in the Apple ecosystem and buy a larger iPad model instead.

Given the rapidly diminishing iPad Mini sales, it would seem prudent for Apple to ax the product from its lineup.

Apple fans are expecting a redesigned iPad Pro later this year which should improve on the current 9.7-inch iPad and a reduced bezel could see it come with a larger display. However, it would be a logical move for Apple, if the product stream is not generating the sales it should.

As for the next major update, iOS 11 is set for launch at Worldwide Developers Conference 2017 to be held at the McEnery Convention Center, San Jose, California, from June 5 to June 9. Riccobono, president of the National Federation of the Blind, said that "Apple has done more for accessibility than any other company to date".

In March I said the iPad mini would quietly disappear "soon-ish".

"The patent filed by Apple for "Electronic devices having displays with openings" describes a method by which various components can be mounted behind perforations in a device screen that are so small as to be imperceptible to the human eye".

The company will also announce a 10.5-inch iPad Pro model, along with a Siri Speaker. There are speculations that the company will unveil a new 10.5-inch iPad Pro at this event.
