Sanchez not sure if he'll miss next start

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Aaron Sanchez seen against the Baltimore Orioles earlier this month has been activated from the disabled list and will take the mound against the Tampa Bay Rays at Rogers Centre on Sunday Sanchez not sure if he'll miss next start

Sanchez, who went 15-2 in his first season as a full-time starter in 2016, has missed two weeks with a blister on the middle finger of his right hand and is ready to face the Rays for the second time this month.

Archer allowed three home runs over a span of five batters in the sixth and seventh innings Monday against the Baltimore Orioles, a 6-3 loss.

The 24-year-old is 0-1 with a 4.38 earned-run average through two starts (12 1/3 innings) this season.

"They had the No. 1 fans in the American League previous year, as far as attendance-wise", Archer said on Saturday.

The victory gave the Jays their first back-to-back wins of the season and their first series "W", ushering out a month that best be forgotten.

Hamilton was just shy of half-a-second back on his team-mate in second place, although he was eventually usurped by Raikkonen. Vettel's pole was his first since the 2015 and front row lockout was Ferrari's since the 2008 French Grand Prix.

After the Jays went on to beat the Rays 3-1, Sanchez said he wasn't sure if he'd be able to make his next start. Sanchez re-aggravated his injury, leaving the game with a split nail on his right middle finger (same nail that sent him to the DL before) per Hazel Mae. "It's tough for me to put these guys through that but it's just one of those situations where you didn't know this was going to happen and they stepped up and did their part". "Mechanics were good, the ball came out easy". No pain around any of the nail.

Tepera was one of six Blue Jays relievers on Sunday, and the oft-victimized group responded by limiting Tampa Bay to four hits and one run. "So, it's back to hopefully the schedule as planned".

Toronto manager John Gibbons said the fact that the umpire issued a warning to both benches is an indication that Wolf thought something was untoward and that he hopes the league will take punitive action against Archer. Jake Odorizzi (1-1, 4.15 ERA) will return from a stint on the disabled list and the Marlins counter with Wei-Yin Chen (2-1, 4.71 ERA). Tepera had a career-high five strikeouts and left with one out in the fifth to a standing ovation from the crowd of 42,986. Two batters after that, suddenly hot Jays catcher Russell Martin singled to right field to bring home the winning run. X-rays were negative and he is listed as day to day. Hahn, meanwhile, has been a steadier presence in Oakland's rotation, and his 2.08 ERA and eight-inning shutout should keep him in the majors a while longer, especially if he can replicate those results against the Astros on Sunday.

Cash and Hickey said there was nothing amiss Sunday with how Colome felt nor how he pitched, except Cash noting "he might've just fallen behind a little more than what we're accustomed with seeing'".
