NASA will unveil new discoveries this week that involve alien oceans in Earth's solar system, space agency officials announced today (April 10). A few months later, the nuclear-powered craft will puncture Saturn's top clouds, disintegrate and vaporize, ending 20 years of unprecedented scientific discoveries.

Hubble, a joint mission of NASA and the European Space Agency, has been orbiting Earth for almost 27 years. The agency's Europa Clipper would place a spacecraft in orbit around Jupiter, to study the detailed investigation of the giant planet's moon Europa.

There's also speculation the announcement could focus on Enceladus, the sixth-largest moon of Saturn.

The Europa Clipper is a NASA robotic probe meant to launch a sometime in the early 2020s.

The goal, NASA says, it to get all of the pieces adopted at least once by Earth Day which is April 22. Basically, researchers want to know whether Europa could support life in its ocean.

Told you we were going to get sciencey...

Schmidt will be an investigator for the ice-penetrating radar instrument that will be housed on the Europa Clipper.

Europa, a small moon, a little smaller than Earth's moon is one of the Jupiter's sixty-seven moons and has always been believed to be one of the ideal nominees in this solar system capable of supporting extra-terrestrial life.

The presence of water on a surface also indicates the likelihood of some sort of life. So as far as what could have started and evolved there, that's a compelling question.
